2014 brought both “highs” and lows in terms of Marijuana legislation.  We witnessed citizens of Oregon, Alaska, and the District of Columbia vote in favor of legalization, while the opposition fought, and still continues to fight, to overrule the popular vote.  To add to the debate, researchers from the University of Michigan and the National Institutes on Drug Abuse released the results of its annual survey, in which the drug habits of 40,000 8th-, 10th-, and 12th-graders were assessed.

The results? In short, researchers were able to conclude that both monthly and daily substance use among high-schoolers is on the decline, including alcohol, marijuana, and cigarettes.
