I first heard about the strain Charlotte’s Web on National Geographic’s American Weed. This interesting strain has a very low THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) content while testing very high in CBD (cannabidiol). CBD is the part of the plant that is prized for its medicinal value. It does not produce the euphoric “high” feeling that is brought on by THC. This specific strain is grown by the non profit The Realm of Caring located in Colorado Springs, CO. They turn the Charlotte’s Web plant into tinctures, oils and other forms of consumption. The plant’s high CBD content has shown great success in treating children suffering from seizures, cancer and other serious ailments. Check out the video below to see more of this amazing plant and the results from pediatric patients.

High CBD strains containing little THC content may be the future of medical marijuana. In Israel, researchers there are producing strains that offer up to 16% CBD with less than 1% THC. Charlotte’s Web has been tested at over 17% CBD content. There already is a huge demand for strains like this that allow a patient to medicate without getting high. We are excited to see the future of medicinal marijuana as it becomes more mainstream. For now we applaud the growers and dispensaries like The Realm of Caring for their work in producing strains that are saving lives. You can contact The Realm of Caring through their website.
