With Washington’s new marijuana laws going into effect on Dec. 6, 2012; many counties in the state are opting to just drop charges of possession. Prosecutors are dropping charges in most major cities and suburban areas, including Thurston, Olympia and Spokane counties.

In Colorado, the city of Denver and Boulder county have released statements saying that they were ceasing to press charges for possession.  The new marijuana laws in the state will allow a person to  possession up to one ounce of cannabis and to grow up to six plants for personal use.  A person must be 21 or over to have possession of marijuana.
