Tourette’s Syndrome Marijuana Studies

A study led by researchers in the Medical School of Hannover in Hannover Germany was conducted to see whether THC could help quell symptoms of Tourette Syndrome. The study used 24 patients who had Tourette Syndrome and were told not to use cannabis for at least 6 weeks before the study and this was concluded with urinalysis. Researchers then gave 12 subjects the placebo and 12 subjects THC for the next 6 weeks. The study concluded that THC can help control tics that are associated with this disease the sample size was very small and the duration of the study was not long enough to see whether there adverse effects to taking THC for a long period of time.
